Stourbridge Dance Academy (previously known as the Beverley Scott School of Dance) was founded in 1981 by Principal Beverley Hadley.
All our classes and examinations follow the National Association of Teachers of Dancing (N.A.T.D.) syllabi. Beverley has an incredible collection of teaching qualifications under N.A.T.D. having gained her first Associate at just 16 years old she has since gone on to gain her Fellowship Ballet, Fellowship National Tap, Fellowship Modern, Licentiate Freestyle and Associate Stage Branch Tap. As well as being a qualified B.A.G.A. Gymnastics coach.
In March 2006 Beverley was made an Examiner for the N.A.T.D. where she frequently travels up and down the country to assess other N.A.T.D. schools examination sessions. She is also chairperson for the Acrobatic branch designing and choreographing the Acrobatic syllabus for N.A.T.D.
The Academy comes from humble beginnings starting out in a very small hall with just 5 pupils, Beverley's hard work and dedication to her pupils has proceeded to take the school from strength to strength having produced some very successful industry professionals over the years. Students have gained places in some of the UK´s top performing arts colleges, gone on to work professionally worldwide in hotels, cruise ships, featured in music videos, television and even in London West End shows.
